Dr Hawramy completed his core psychiatry training at the South London and Maudsley training scheme and trained in General Adult psychiatry, Liaison psychiatry, Psychological Medicine, Intellectual Disability and Older Adults Psychiatry at St Thomas, Guy’s, Maudsley, and Lambeth hospitals. He completed his higher psychiatry training in intellectual Disability in Bristol and Gloucestershire as part of Severn Postgraduate Medical Education.
Dr Hawramy has background postgraduate education and training in neurology and holds a master’s degree in clinical neurology. He also holds a degree in medical education. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He holds certificate of completion of specialist training and is on the General Medical Council’s specialist register.
Dr Hawramy has been working as a consultant psychiatrist with the National Health Service (NHS) for many years and has been educational and clinical supervisor for core and higher psychiatry trainees. He is a fellow of the higher education academy in the United Kingdom. He has been publishing in the filed of psychiatry and neuropsychiatry in peer-reviewed journals. His main interest is in the field of Brain-mind interface when thoughts, feelings, perceptions, cognitions, and behaviours are affected due to disruptions in brain development or illnesses of the Central Nervous System.
Dr Hawramy continues to work as a part-time consultant with the NHS in London. In terms of private practice, he provides clinical diagnostic assessment, treatment, and expert opinion for adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Learning Disability, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Motor Disorders, Specific Learning Difficulties), and associated Mental Illnesses, Challenging Behaviour, and Neuropsychiatric conditions.
